Shishito Peppers
Shishito peppers by Rachel DiNuzio using Algae Cooking Club's algae cooking oil and shiitake mushroom finishing oil.
Ingredients
Main
Shishito peppers
Algae cooking club all-purpose
Algae cooking club shiitake finishing oil
Lemon juice
Sesame seeds
Honey
Salt and pepper
Step 1
Preheat a cast iron or stainless steel pan over medium high heat until very hot.
Step 2
Add oil and heat until it shimmers.
Step 3
Add shishito peppers and cook, stirring or flipping the pan often, until they develop a nice char on all sides, 2-4 minutes.
Step 4
Optionally, while they are cooking, squeeze some fresh lemon juice over them - but be careful! This will steam up quickly.
Step 5
Finish with shiitake finishing oil, a little more lemon juice, a drizzle of honey, sesame seeds, and salt and pepper. Enjoy!
